New Canon patent discloses some serious APS-C zoom lens designs

Canon has patented three variations of a more advanced APS-C zoom lens:

  • Canon RF-S 15-80mm f/2.8-5.6
  • Canon RF-S 15-70mm f/2.8-4 IS STM
  • Canon RF-S 15-70mm f/4 IS STM

It would be about time Canon gets serious with APS-C zoom lenses. But I don’t know if this patent will ever translate into a real mass product 🙁
